Secret Gardens.

Events. I’m into that stuff.

Fashion, almost a religion like entity that has taken over most of the world. The annual Fashion week has gone through fashion capitals of the world – from Milan, Paris, New York, London, to small scale ones in countries like Sri Lanka.  Instagram and Snapchat went haywire with pictures and live streaming to keep the rest of the world on par with all the fuss and glory that comes with events of this calibre. After having been a part of one of the shows for London’s SS16, I finally saw first hand what all the hype was about. I have done a blog post about the event and the clothing line and other little tid bits throughout the day here.

If any of you follow the fashion world, you’d have seen the crazy variety of shows this year from the most reputable brands that have taken over the fashion world by storm. I personally loved the show Burberry put up. From a tent set up in a garden square in Kensington Gardens – which allowed for fashion to blend in with the beauty that is nature – to a live orchestra throughout, the Burberry show had it all. Not to mention their front row, which included Naomi Campbell, Sam Smith, Paloma Faith, Kate Moss, and Cara Delevingne to name a few.

All the hype with the fashion world and their shows, along with my desire to be deeply involved with the events industry, gave me an idea – I should get my creative juices flowing and imagine my own event (in the hopes that one day, I’d be able to do just that). So assuming that this ‘event’ is based on a fashion show, I used the internet as fuel to inspiration and ideas – coz who doesn’t use the internet for just that, these days?

I thought that something along the lines of a ‘secret garden’ theme would be not only beautiful, but also a great way to create a relaxed atmosphere with great music. So here are a few of the ideas I brainstormed: garden square, filament light bulbs hanging over the seating area, runway across the garden – but instead of a straight line, I’d prefer it in a more interesting shape, maybe a slow S-curve with the stop-pose-turn bit happening on a little bridge over a mini stream, a refreshment bar with a touch of industrial letter lights, a few misplaced mirrors around the venue, sofas and cushion beds, and of course we would have to incorporate my favourite thing in the world ever – copper.

What’s an event without digital animation? But since the show is based around a naturistic world, digital animation will just have to blend in. And as we are in my world of imagination where everything is possible and no idea or concept presents too high a budget or is considered not acceptable or whatever, my limits are limitless. (Limitless fans would appreciate this)

So there you go. A few concepts and ideas on what I would love to have if I could plan my own event!
